Hnhggn'dggk'htk'gxxt, or the Burning Manse of Dark Vermin, is an ethereal palace complex from Rat-man mythology, thought to exist somewhere deep in the swamps of north-east Russitea where they make their abode.
The Burning Manse is represented in oral tradition as a Cyclopean citadel of stone or clay blocks (the exact material is unclear, since the Rat-men generally have no connection with masonry), lit with thousands of the Fire Sticks that are the only source of warmth within the Boggy Empire. It is inhabited by the souls of dead Rat-men, who serve giant rats that in turn serve their mythical master, the terrible Rat-fire Emperor who is said to preside over the entire Empire.
The Boggy Empire has yet to be explored thoroughly - even by the Rat-men themselves - but so far it is unlikely that such a structure truly exists. Obviously, it would require a patch of solid ground upon which to build a foundation, and such patches are very few and far between.
