The Seven Eras

The Advancing Time of Colonisation

The first era when sapient life first appeared and history began. It lasted 2,000 years. Grand Lilithians believe that there was a world and life before this time, and humans are coming round to the idea, but they are alone.

• By means and persons unknown, The Sunstone is removed from the Yumec's Sunspire, resulting in the collapse of their civilisation.

The Celestial Age of Blessings

The second era when everything seemed to be going well and there were no major wars. It lasted 2,300 years.

• The Rat-men are visited by The Bright Rat and The Dark Rat, who bring them rats and fire

The Dissolute Time of Poorhouses

The third era which began when currency and the economy collapsed and wars became more frequent as resources became rarer and worth more. It lasted 800 years. The exception to this global poverty were the Children of Nherru who rose to prominence in the last centuries of the era. Kyrosos records indicate that they once referred to this as the Age of Ivory.

• Roughly 15 years prior to the shattering of the Eye of Nherru, the Children of Nherru begin a massive campaign of global expansion.

The Bloodstained Aeon

The fourth era which was an all out war between, essentially, every sapient race on the planet. Evidently the Aeon was largely instigated by the Children of Nherru. It was during this era the Western Orcs were killed. It lasted 550 years. At the start of the Aeon, the The Zikal Crystals came into being when the Eye of Nherru was shattered.

15 A.S. the Aeon begins with the expansion of Nherru
0 A.S.- The Eye of Nherru destroyed.
~50 A.S. - Collapse of the Empire of Nherru, Children of Nherru become extremely Xenophobic but manage to hold their nation together for approximately the next 50 years.
114 A.S. - Nherru itself burns to the ground, only the ominous Tower of Nherru remains intact.
~30 A.S.- 443 A.S. Western Orcs menaced by the Northern Hordes.
443- Northern Hordes sack the Western Orc Capital. Western Orc government-in-exile sets up a rump state centered around the mountain fortress of Shug.
449- Cicazl send astronomer-priests to colonize Zikal.
459- Western Orcs turn on their human allies from Dokra and Groyle, launch air-raids against their territories and try to re-claim their lands; 1 Grand Dirigible, The Flight of the Buzzard, lost in the subsequent war.
470- Crusaders of Cicazl attack Western Orc remnants; baloonists sieze two of the remaining Grand Dirigibles;
472- Last stand of the Western Orcs; Shug falls after a long siege, its inhabitants massacred or scattered by the Cicazl warrior-priests. Western Orcs destroyed.

503- Sun Lilithians and allies cut off the Cicazl aqueducts; Tlapili falls

Important Events

• Western Orcs Annihilated by Northern Orcs and the Crusaders of Cicazl
• Tumbruk founded
• The Kingdom of Blue Moons becomes the Kingdom of Shattered Lands
• The Comet of the Scarlet Eye is seen, heralding the end of the era some years before the shattering.

Important People of the Age

From the time of the shattering, time is often measured as "AS" or After Shattering. This the Bloodstained Aeon ends at 550 AS.

The Age of Wounds

The fifth era was a recovering stage from the end of the wars. There were no wars during this time as each race licked its wounds, so to speak, and began to rebuild. It lasted 590 years.

551 AS - 1140 AS
Circa 800 AS - Kyrosos at the height of it's power.

Important Events

• The last of the Grand Dirigibles, the Lady of Stars and Wind, is destroyed when it is swept out to sea in a windstorm.
• The Mobile Kingdom of Kaluang Clah is constructed - or is discovered.

The Era of Expansion

The sixth era was a time of expansion, exploration, technical advancement and scientific discovery. It was considered something of a "golden age" and lasted 900 years.

1141 AS - 2040 AS

Important Events

• 1553- Pollicles become extinct, after four hundred or so years of exquisite map making in this time of exploration.
• 1882- The lost kingdom of Quuarmar rediscovered in The Desert of Kobbon.
• 2026- Revolution of the Seers; Crystal of Fate brought to Orath.
• 2033- Egutu the Bloody gains control of the Crystal, begins his conquest of central Orath.
• 2041- Egutu the Bloody defeated; beginning of the Virtuous Age of Salvation

The Virtuous Age of Salvation

The current age, which has so far lasted 520 years. Since the last era was considered the "golden age", this one is often referred to as a "platinum age".
