The Kyrosos civilisation exists only as a small suggestion of the empire it once was. Now, a city covering only 120 acres, the civilisation was once one of the most powerful, influential and cultured at the time of its peak. Their craftsmen were advanced in their technique beyond any other human culture, their land was rich and fertile, able to produce more than enough to support the people of Kyrosos in comfort, with enough left to trade to outside civilisations in return for raw materials, luxury goods and other items. Their religion, too, was very rich, steeped in mythology and ruled by the priests and priestesses of Aeylythya. It seems most likely that this was a matriarchal society, with the High Priestesses ruling and administering the Empire from six temple bases which were surrounded by a city and an outer ring of farmland with a defensible wall beyond. Names also passed, and still pass, through the matrilineal line with each child taking his or her mother's second name as their own second name.
It is also thought that exiled Kyrosians were responsible for the invasion of the Eight Hundred and Thirty Three Islands after their years of prosperity. After an attempt at rebellion, a number of male Kyrosians were expelled from the empire and took up piracy on the Sea of Octhoros. It is most likely that the islands suited their purposes, although they later settled in to the islands, preserving the indigenous customs while introducing some of their own. It is interesting to note that Sidra, a dominant deity on the Eight Hundred and Thirty-Three islands is linked quite obviously to the Kyrosian goddess of the same name. The oracle given after the creation of the islands was said to have been of Kyrosian origin and it is also widely thought that the priestesses may have populated the islands with their own people, thus, the Kyrosians and the islanders could ostensibly be the same people.
