A relatively small collection of Human chiefdoms in the forests and mountains of eastern Orath. The people of Murrawain (known as Murrs) are taller than average (perhaps due to interbreeding with Lilithians sometime in the past), and tend towards sandy blonde or white hair and green eyes. Men wear their hair long and are often bearded, while women tend to wear their hair quite short, under woolen toques and fur hoods. They tend to be a jovial, energetic people, and are masters of hunting, fishing, and storytelling. For the most part, they live in large communal lodges made from logs of Adamant Cinderpine.
The Murrs worship a collection of surprisingly flawed, almost comical deities, and most of their large collection of folklore deals with humourous renditions of these gods' and goddesses' many faults and mistakes. They regard the Forestfoot as a sacred animal - the messenger of the gods - and will not do it harm. Indeed, they even refuse to give it a name in their language, preferring to use epithets like "the Wild Woodsman" or "the Moondancer". There have even been instances of Forestfeet being granted the prestigious status of Lodge Elder - honourarily, of course, since no Forestfoot would ever pluck up the courage to enter a lodge.
The Murrs are expert bowmen, though they rarely engage in warfare with other nations or races. They recieve very few travelers, but are always friendly towards those that do come their way. Their lilting, warm language is pleasant to hear but difficult to learn, as there is no written component - their tales are all passed by word of mouth.
