The Shade Gremlin is an irritating presence to one and all. Parents frequently use horror stories about Shade Gremlins to keep their children from wandering off into forests and caves. Shade Gremlins stand about two feet tall and are pure black, aside from a tuft of navy blue hair on their head and violently yellow eyes. They have four arms and are bipedal. They are also generally very skinny with pointy knees and elbows and large ears. They prey on whatever happens to wander into their territory, showing little remorse. They are scared of magic and thus can be removed with any simple spell (they will not go anywhere near a house with a Fell Kitty in the window.)

Although they commonly live in caves, forests and up mountains, they have been known to wander into urban settlements where they raid rubbish bins and catch small people (usually children) and pets that cross their paths when no one else is around.
