Though their true name, the Children of Nherru, is still known, history prefers to remember them as the Children of Blood.

Overview

The information that remains of this ancient civilisation is contradictory. Some accounts suggest that they were once brilliant and glorious, a land filled with wisdom and great power. While others insist that they were bloodthirsty savages, desiring nothing so much as the annihilation or subservience of all other nations on Xothu. One thing however is clear, the Children of Nherru were almost singlehandedly responsible for the beginning of the Bloodstained Aeon.
At the height of their power, the Children of Nherru encompassed most of Nova, sharing it with Cicazl. Their influence spread across the globe. Scattered records from towards end of the Dissolute Time of Poorhouses suggest that their behavior became erratic just prior to the beginning of the Bloodstained Aeon, emissaries were withdrawn from all other nations, and military manoevers stepped up dramatically. The Children, it seems, were poised to dominate the entire world. Their powers were almost godlike, fueled by the incredible artifact in their possession, the Eye of Nherru.
Slowly, they began to exert their tremendous wills upon other great nations, notably the Cicazl. It seems at first they were met with little resistance, perhaps out of fear. There is nothing to substantiate what exactly happened next. While the Eye of Nherru was most definitely shattered, overnight tipping the scales against the Children, there are no records to indicate how or why it was shattered. Perhaps it was an internal power struggle? One of the then Masters of Nherru, the Baron Lord of the Great Walls is said to have often fought with his comrade, the Master of Machinations, though the First Lady of Nherru of the time evidently kept them in line. Perhaps a daring raid into the heart of the Children's territory destroyed the Eye? Or maybe the Children of Nherru themselves shattered the Eye, drawing upon it's powers too much? Nevertheless, the Children suddenly found themselves no longer the incontrovertible lords of the world they were setting themselves up to be. On equal footing, every other nation fell upon the forces of Nherru simultaneously.
If the other nations and races had allied at the beginning, perhaps the Bloodstained Aeon would never have happened. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for some to take advantage of the distraction of some long standing enemies, raiding them while they were occupied evicting the forces of Nherru from their lands. Racial feuds long put aside were quick to spring up once more. By the time the Children of Nherru were being defeated all across Xothu, the other nations were already deeply entrenched in fighting each other.

Territory

The Central and Northern parts of Nova, though they controlled a good portion of the rest of the world prior to the shattering of the Eye of Nherru. Their capitol was a massive city known simply as Nherru.

People

Mostly human, though there may have been others including Shadow Lilithians.

Technology

The armies of Nherru were most noted for hulking soldiers, that seemed to be mobile suits of armour powered by a mechanical warrior. They were the powerhouses of the Nherru legions, up until the shattering of the Eye of Nherru at which point each and every one of them instantly collapsed. It is uncertain how these Soldiers functioned, or even why exactly they collapsed with the destruction of the Eye of Nherru. It seems foolish that the Nherru would have run every single one of them with the power of the Eye rather than them having their own power sources (though it could have been an arrogant miscalculation on their part). Following their collapse, all the Soldiers were destroyed by other nations for fear that Nherru would somehow find a means to reanimate them. It is regrettable (for the sake of knowledge) but very fortunate (for the sake of, well, everyone) that none was ever taken apart for study.
Since most of Nherru's cities were destroyed during the Bloodstained Aeon, it is uncertain how advanced they actually were. It seems they possessed a fair bit of mechanical technology (known examples include ovens and large stone crates which kept things cool) that all ceased to work when the Eye was destroyed. It is likely these worked on a similar principal to their Soldiers.
The Eye of Nherru was the pinnacle of their civilisation. History does not indicate whether or not the Children of Nherru created the Eye themselves, though the Eye is recorded to have existed as far back as the earliest records of the Children of Nherru.

Government

Possibly a theocracy. Though it seems the first Lord or Lady of Nherru was always more of a political figure than a spiritual one. Succession was chosen through a series of mysterious trials conducted upon possible candidates by the Masters of Nherru. The earliest age the title of first Lord or Lady has been achieved is 14, by First Lady Shiara. She ruled for an unsurpassed 72 years.

Culture

There are few records of the Children of Nherru and their culture, following their destruction during the Bloodstained Aeon the other civilisations were far too occupied fighting for survival to tend to the histories and much information was lost.

Religion

The faith of Nherru revolved around a singular god, the Arhtempist. The true name of this god has been forgotten. It has been put forth that perhaps a radical change in religious views prior to the Bloodstained Aeon set Nherru on the warpath. However the First Lady of Nherru just before and at the start of the Bloodstained Aeon (who's name has been lost) is recorded to have stripped the clergy of a lot of it's power at the start of her reign, so the theory may be completely defunct.

History

As previously stated, virtually all records of Nherru prior to the Shattering have been lost, and even after this period there is little information about the Children of Nherru due to the turbulent nature of the Bloodstained Aeon. The only group that may or may not have any knowledge of them, significant or otherwise, would be The Empire of the Moon God Intli. Though the Empire as it is known today was formed long after the fall of Nherru, there may yet exist some ancient records dating back to prior to their colonisation of Zikal. (Purely speculative.)

The solid facts that remain state that by 50 A.S. the Children of Nherru had been entirely pushed back into Nova, not a trace of their influence remaining beyond the continent. What was left of their army was sufficient to stall utter defeat for decades. The Masters of Nherru became extremely paranoid, and supposedly ordered an enormous wall built to contain their territory. One record exists to state that the Nherru made one last stab outside their borders around 75 A.S. attacking the Cicazl aqueducts beyond the mountains. Evidently unsuccessful, this attack laid the template for the later destruction of the aqueducts by the Sun Lilithians and their allies.

An uprising of the Night Orc clans of the Orbicht Mountains kept the Nherru distracted long enough for forces from Kyrosos to catch them off guard in 110 A.S. leading to a bloody seige which lasted many years and culminated in the sacking of Nherru itself which was burned to the ground.

Population

Unknown. Fairly large, if the size of the ruins of Nherru is anything to go by.

International Relations

At one time, the Children of Nherru had an emissary in the ruling court of nearly every major nation on Xothu, and many minor ones. Despite war and strife, they still endeavoured to trade towards the end of the Dissolute Time of Poorhouses. Suffice to say their international relations turned rather sour when they declared their dominance over the continents of Xothu.

Economy

Nherru's early wealth is attributed to the mining of various Crystals and metals, which supplied them with the raw materials to build their society and substantial income in trade.

World-View

Evidently one of total domination. No one knows what drove the once seemingly benevolent Children of Nherru to this goal.
