Voidness Rings

History
The use of the term 'Voidness Rings' was first conceived by a young-ish Voidmancer who was under the impression that magic was there to do as he commanded, a foolish mistake, especially when dealing with the Void.
He disappeared not long after the fall and shattering of the Eye of Nherru, and other, curious but cautious voidmancers wished to know why. Sifting through his various manuscripts and possessions they found evidence that would suggest he had been consumed by the Void.
The spell has since been published in all major void-related books.

Description
Does what it says on the scroll. 3-5 rings of voidness erupt from the caster's fingers and can be directed to stationary targets or made to follow moving ones.
Each ring, upon reaching its target, begins to spin rapidly so as to create a sphere in which the target is contained. Upon reaching the proper speed, or 'V-Speed', the sphere shrinks until it is microscopic, and then vanishes with an audible 'pop'.
Objects and/or people 'taken' by the rings are non-recoverable.

Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control it is possible for voidness rings to occur naturally. This mainly tends to happen in the Nova region, and is the cause of inexplicable holes appearing in the sides of buildings, and of pairs of smoking boots.

Casting Time
A good demonstration of the voidness rings only requires an hour to prepare, but extremely powerful (read: incredibly dangerous) versions may take up to six hours.

Duration
How long the rings last is based entirely upon the strength of the caster. A beginner in magic use may be able to create rings that last for twenty minutes; an experienced or professional voidmancer could make one last weeks (assuming, of course, that it did not catch up with its target).

Area of Effect
One pre-designated target per ring.

Limitations
WARNING! This can be an extremely dangerous spell if in the hands of one who has not cast it before, so supervision is advised on these occasions. No one but the caster can be held responsible for loss of limbs, sanity, life, or all three.

ALSO NOTE: It is known that Fell Cats are the only creatures not affected by Voidness Rings.

Casting Complexity
Voidness Rings can only be cast by 2nd-level voidmancers with hands, unimpedimented speech and common sense.
